Dear President Andrew Jackson I believe I have a good cause for the current budget surplus, I believe the money can be put towards woman’s rights and the abolishment of slavery. I feel it unjust that a woman does not have the same rights as a man to do what they will. When I was a child I was not aloud to learn long division just because of my gender. White men’s foe power over the civil rights of Women and Blacks is unjust. I would like to secure the right to vote for women and blacks. I have been a teacher at two schools one of which promoted me to headmistress of the female department. I and Elizabeth Stanton organized the first women’s temperance society. We also founded the National Women’s Suffrage Association. I also did indeed go to jail for voting even though there was no technical law stating I as a woman could not vote. A case was evolved and I was found guilty but when I would not pay bail they set me free anyhow. I published a weekly journal called the Revolution and I published the History of women’s suffrage. I am currently residing in New York I feel you could help my movement by supporting conventions, gatherings and other functions with this surplus budget money I think you could consider the idea of proposing the abolishment of slavery to the legislative branch and also secure voting rights for women.
